Overdraft Privilege is a courtesy service we offer our members as a token of our appreciation for their confidence in Southeast Financial. Have you ever made an error in your check register or forgotten to write down an ATM transaction? Or, have you forgotten to deposit your paycheck before leaving town? We understand mistakes can happen, so we offer this convenient service which is designed to prevent the embarrassment associated with writing a check and later finding that is was returned to the merchant or other party for insufficient funds. If you should inadvertently overdraw your account by a written check, Southeast Financial Federal Credit Union will cover your overdrafts up to a determined limit for as long as this privilege is extended. Here's how it works: In the case of an overdraft, you will be covered up to the amount determined upon opening your checking (share draft) account minus the Southeast Financial Federal Credit Union NSF and Daily Negative Balance Fees, which is outlined in the Overdraft Privilege Disclosure. The merchant will not charge you a returned check fee, because no check will be returned unless it exceeds the allowable limit. This privilege applies to paper checks only and may be withdrawn at any time at the sole discretion of Southeast Financial Federal Credit Union.
